Job Description:
Lindsay Saker Bloemfontein is offering a CBMT Apprenticeship (Competency Based Modular Training), which blends on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom-based education. The apprenticeship is supervised by a qualified motor vehicle mechanic, with theoretical instruction provided by Imperial Technical Training Academy (ITTA).
Training Program Details:
- CBMT contract with merSETA and a learnership contract with Lindsay Saker Kempton Park.
- MIBCO minimum wages apply for CBMT Apprentice.
- Duration: 4 years (Levels 1 - 4).
- Training at ITTA: 5 days of training every 5 weeks.
- Distance learning program (CDX): Interactive tutorials and practical exercises done online at work and home.
- Testing: Computer-based testing, practical competency exams, and portfolio development.
- On-the-job experience: Working in the Lindsay Saker Bloemfontein Service department to gain practical experience. Apprentices will work alongside a qualified technician, learning vehicle maintenance and repair aligned with the original manufacturers' specifications.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric (N2) with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English (minimum 50%).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Computer literacy.
- The applicant must pass a mechanical insight test.
- Background and medical checks will be conducted to ensure fitness for work.
- Successful applicants will undergo a psychometric assessment and a face-to-face interview.
