Job Description
Fidelity ADT, a leader in the security and investigations industry, is seeking dedicated and professional Armed Response Officers to join our team in Johannesburg. Key Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Applicants must have completed Matric (Grade 12).
- PSIRA Registration: Candidates must hold a Grade B PSIRA accreditation, registered with a focus on response security services.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the security industry is required, with a strong preference for those who have worked in estate or residential security environments.
- Criminal Record: Applicants must have a clean criminal record and should be willing to undergo regular criminal background checks to maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and in good health to carry out the demanding duties of an armed response officer, including climbing and dealing with emergency situations. Additionally, applicants should not have a fear of heights as certain situations may require elevated responses.
- Computer Literacy: While not mandatory, being computer literate is considered an advantage for reporting, communication, and operational tasks.
- Location: Applicants must reside within traveling distance to the Soweto site, as immediate response times are critical in this role.
- Firearm Competency: A firearm competency certification for a handgun, specifically for business purposes, is essential.
- Driver’s License: Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles during response tasks.

Core Responsibilities
The Armed Response Officer will be responsible for several key duties, including:
- Rapid Response: Responding quickly and efficiently to alarms or emergency situations at residential or estate properties, ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
- Patrolling and Monitoring: Conducting routine patrols within designated areas to prevent and deter criminal activities, as well as responding to any disturbances or unauthorized activities.
- Incident Management: Handling security incidents professionally and promptly, ensuring detailed and accurate reporting of all events that occur during the shift.
- Firearm Handling: Maintaining and using a firearm responsibly and in accordance with legal and company standards. Officers will be expected to use firearms only when absolutely necessary and with full respect for safety regulations.
- Client Interaction: Ensuring positive and professional interactions with clients, keeping them informed of any security concerns, and offering reassurance during security events.
- Compliance: Following all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations, especially those related to firearm safety, response protocols, and reporting.
