Qualifications & Experience Requirements
To be considered for the BIL YES Programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be aged between 18 and 34 years.
- Be aligned with the Employment Equity (EE) requirements of the programme.
- Be unemployed and actively looking for work.
- Must be available and committed to work full-time for 12 months.
- Have a strong interest in the transport and logistics industry.
- Must not be currently enrolled in any academic studies for the year 2025.
- Have not previously participated in any YES Programme at another company.
This opportunity is designed to provide a real entry point into the logistics industry. Therefore, no prior experience is required, but an interest in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
By joining the YES Programme, participants will commit to a 12-month training and work experience programme. You will be expected to:
- Complete 25 modules consisting of both theoretical and practical components.
- Modules will be facilitated through the YES Platform, and participants must complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their learning upon completion of the programme.
- Apply the knowledge gained from the theoretical modules into real-life work environments, contributing to the day-to-day functioning of BIL's logistics operations.
- Uphold the values and standards of Bidvest International Logistics, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and a commitment to growth and learning throughout the programme.
Skills & Competencies Required
While formal qualifications are minimal, we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who display the following competencies:
- Self-reliance – You should be able to manage yourself and your responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Determination and Commitment – The ability to stay focused and complete the 12-month programme with dedication.
- Accountability and Responsibility – As a member of the BIL team, you will be expected to take responsibility for your actions and deliver your best work.
- Basic Computer Literacy – Proficiency with basic computer functions, including the ability to navigate digital platforms.
- Punctuality – Time management is key, and being on time will reflect your commitment to your role.
- Proficiency in English – Strong English skills are necessary for communication in both written and spoken formats.
