Job Introduction:  

G4S Cash Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated cash management services, is looking to fill the position of Driver (Cash in Transit) at their Port Elizabeth operations. The selected candidate will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for transporting valuable goods while adhering to safety and security procedures.

Due to the nature of the role, which involves the handling and use of firearms, candidates will need to provide a valid medical certificate confirming their fitness to carry and use a firearm. The certificate is only required when the candidate is being seriously considered for the role and will be part of the vetting and screening process. The medical certificate should not be older than 3 months from the engagement date.


Role Responsibility:

1. Cash in Transit Responsibilities

  • Guard and safely handle valuables during transit between designated areas.
  • Drive the vehicle and ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols.
  • Maintain awareness and vigilance during trips to prevent theft, tampering, or suspicious activities.

2. Vehicle Standards and Equipment Maintenance

  • Ensure that all equipment is in working order and sign off for all issued items.
  • Conduct a vehicle audit before each trip and complete checklists to ensure safety.
  • Be responsible for all technology and equipment used during operations, including proper usage and care.

3. Driving and Incident Management

  • Drive responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and reporting any accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Comply with vehicle operating instructions and regulations.
  • Record and report all incidents to the branch and relevant authorities.

4. Operational Responsibilities

  • Perform control functions for scheduled trips.
  •  Conduct standard checks before departing from the branch.
  • Report any vehicle immobilization issues to control immediately.
  • Follow all company protocols to protect both the crew and the valuables being transported.
  • Carry out security drills and follow operational security procedures.

5. Health and Safety

  • Actively participate in safety forums.
  • Report all safety incidents and take part in regular safety education programs.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and wear the appropriate protective clothing at all times.

Requirements:

-Education:

  •   Grade 12 (Matric)

  Certifications:  

  •   Valid PSIRA Certification (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority)  
  •   CIT (Cash in Transit) Certificate  
  •   Valid SAPS Firearm Competency with Business Purposes  
  •   Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) License

  •  Strong risk assessment skills and the ability to act swiftly.  
  •  Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
