Job Advert Summary:

A position is available for an experienced General Worker - Cleaner to maintain cleanliness in outdoor walkways and other assigned areas. The individual will ensure that the premises are clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical Fitness: The candidate must be medically fit for physical tasks.
  • Reliability: Must be reliable and dependable in carrying out duties.
  • Safety Awareness: Should work safely and adhere to all company safety protocols.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Clean Criminal Record: Required for employment.
  • Transport: Must have reliable transport to commute to and from work.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery. Must be able to walk, bend, push, pull, and lift repetitively during working hours.
  • Knowledge of Cleaning Chemicals: Should know proper storage and disposal methods for cleaning chemicals.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Organizational Skills: Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-Motivation: Able to identify tasks and complete them without direct supervision.
  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning Tasks: Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
  • Daily Office Cleaning: Empty trash cans, service restrooms, and wipe down communal surfaces.
  • Outdoor Maintenance: Ensure walkways remain clear and free of debris.
  • Repair Notifications: Notify building management about any needed repairs.
  • Office Assistance: Help office staff by making tea when required.
  • General Cleaning: Clean the entire premises and maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Housekeeping: Perform general housekeeping tasks as directed by the supervisor.

This role is ideal for someone organized, physically fit, and willing to work flexible hours in a dynamic environment.
