Introduction
Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting opportunity in the Manufacturing Department for aspiring engineers. This In-Service Trainee Engineering position is designed for talented individuals who are currently studying towards a National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and need practical industry experience to complete their qualification.
The internship will take place at CCBSA's Midrand Plant, and the successful candidates will work closely with the Plant Manager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This program aims to help young professionals build technical and operational skills while contributing to the company's performance goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As an In-Service Trainee Engineer, you will play an active role in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing equipment. Your tasks will include:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Proactively repair equipment as per maintenance targets to continually improve department efficiency.
- Optimize equipment availability to support smooth production processes.
Process Optimization:
- Minimize operational losses and risks by enhancing the availability and reliability of machinery.
- Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of novel business solutions.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to the company's strict health and safety standards while performing maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that all work is done according to engineering best practices and industry regulations.

Knowledge:
- A solid understanding of engineering principles, specifically in electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications, Experience & Other Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 40%). Note: Mathematical Literacy is not accepted.
- Two South African Languages passed with a minimum of 40%.
- Currently studying towards a National Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification.
- Completed theoretical modules but still require practical exposure to complete the diploma.
Experience:
- Previous participation in an In-Service Trainee programme at another company is not allowed.
Other Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be an Employment Equity candidate.
- Must be unemployed at the time of appointment.
- Must be between 18-35 years of age.
- Must provide a letter from the institution requesting workplace experience to complete their qualification.
