Job Title: Services SETA Facilitator/Assessor – Johannesburg Branch
Key Purpose of the Job:
The Services SETA Facilitator/Assessor is responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessments to learners, with a focus on promoting youth development and skills enhancement. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including other trainers, facilitators, and management, to ensure effective facilitation of training programs, maintain high standards of assessment, and contribute to the continuous improvement of education services. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education, training, and making a tangible impact on learners’ futures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate all allocated training programs offered by the institution, ensuring learners are provided with the necessary knowledge, skills, and guidance to succeed in their respective fields.
Plan, prepare, and conduct all assessments for allocated learners in accordance with relevant Education, Training, and Quality Assurer (ETQA) policies and procedures. This includes designing assessment activities and ensuring they align with unit standards and learning outcomes.
Actively support the ongoing development of all allocated learners, identifying areas for improvement, and providing guidance to help them achieve their full potential. This includes offering constructive feedback and conducting progress reviews.
Coordinate internal assessment activities with learners, ensuring alignment with the institution’s internal assessment policies and procedures. Manage timelines and ensure all assessments are completed and reported on within stipulated deadlines.
Regularly report on assessment progress for all allocated learners to the Facilitation Manager and other relevant stakeholders. Highlight any challenges encountered during facilitation or assessment and propose solutions to improve quality and effectiveness.
Ensure that assessor registration status is valid with the relevant ETQA for all allocated programs. This includes adhering to SETA requirements, monitoring learner progress, and submitting accurate reports as required by SAQA, SETA, QCTO, DHET, and other related regulatory bodies.
Engage in continuous professional development, including staying updated with changes and advancements in subject matter practice, facilitation techniques, and assessment standards. Attend relevant workshops, conferences, or training programs to improve personal knowledge and skills.
Review and recommend improvements for facilitation and assessment processes to ensure high-quality education delivery. When required, assist in revising or enhancing the content of training material to meet learner needs and institutional standards.
Gather and report on all developments regarding the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETA), Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and related landscapes and legislation. Stay informed about any regulatory changes that could impact the facilitation and assessment scope.
Assist with all facilitation and assessment-related administrative tasks, ensuring proper record-keeping, learner tracking, and reporting. This includes maintaining learner portfolios of evidence, updating records in line with institutional procedures, and ensuring all assessments are stored securely.

Requirements:
Probationary Period: Three months (with the possibility of extension for a further three months, based on performance).

Assessor Registration: The candidate must hold a valid Services SETA Constituent Assessor Registration for the following qualifications:
- Generic Management (NQF Level 4) – SAQA ID: 57712
- Business Administration (NQF Level 3) – SAQA ID: 67465
- Project Management (NQF Level 4) – SAQA ID: 50080
Advantageous SETA Registrations: While not mandatory, having assessor registration for the following qualifications would be an added advantage:
- Business Administration (NQF Level 2) – SAQA ID: 23833
- Business Practice (NQF Level 1) – SAQA ID: 61755
- Contact Centre (NQF Level 4) – SAQA ID: 93996, 71489
Qualifications:
A Grade 12 certificate is required.
A valid Services SETA Constituent Assessor Registration is mandatory for the key qualifications mentioned above.
