Job Description:
Midas is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Salesman to join our branch in King Williams Town. The primary objective of this role is to meet all sales targets while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have strong communication and negotiation skills, along with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers. This position reports directly to the Retail Manager.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to:
Sales Management:
- Effectively manage customer and counter sales to ensure optimal potential is achieved.
- Meet or exceed the sales targets set by the Sales, Branch, or Retail Manager.
- Plan, forecast, and report on sales potential by customer, enabling strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and report on competitor pricing and market activities to remain competitive.
Revenue Generation and Business Growth:
- Achieve revenue targets by expanding the customer base and increasing market share within the geographical area of responsibility.
- Ensure that new business is generated and customer relationships are strengthened.
Customer Support and Engagement:
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries, providing quotations, product information, and pricing details.
- Provide ongoing support to customers to maintain a high level of satisfaction.
- Work closely with other departments (Accounts, Dispatch, Warehousing, Receiving, and Technical) to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of customer queries.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Requirements: Matric certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a sales parts environment, with a focus on customer service.
- Geographical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the area of responsibility.
- Technical Knowledge: A technical background will be considered an advantage.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Team Player: Must be a good team player, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of the costs and breakeven scenarios of customer service delivery.
- Independence: Capable of managing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Planning and Time Management: Strong planning and time management skills to manage tasks efficiently.
