About Takealot:
Takealot.com is South Africa's leading online retailer, looking for a SHERQ Administrator to join its dynamic team. This position reports to the Risk and Security Manager and involves managing Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) in the Cape Town Distribution Center.


Responsibilities:

SHE Management:

  • Implement and maintain the SHE management system.
  • Keep SHE files up to date and accurate.
  • Ensure SHE appointments are current as per the appointment plan.
  • Identify and report SHE risks and mitigate them.
  • Update emergency response and evacuation plans.
  • Coordinate evacuation drills and manage hazardous goods.
  • Ensure compliance with facility permits and certifications.
  • Conduct monthly SHE inspections and coordinate toolbox talks.
  • Organize training according to requirements and assist with internal/external SHE audits.
  • Schedule SHE surveys and report non-conformances.
  • Follow up on injuries and monthly SHE compliance reporting.

Blue Area Management:

  • Implement and maintain the Blue Area SOP.
  • Ensure blue area layouts follow the SOP, and chairpersons conduct meetings as required.
  • Update and display Wellness, 5S, and SHE information.

5S Management:

  • Implement and maintain the 5S SOP and ensure standards are up to date.
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and quarterly 5S audits and training.
  • Assist with creating 5S standards and maintaining red-tag areas.
  • Report on 5S dashboards and address non-conformities.

  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and concentration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Good knowledge of administrative tasks and geography.
  • Must have a clean driving and criminal record, be of sober habits, and available for overtime.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Grade 12.
  • SAMTRAC certification.
  • A diploma in Health and Safety would be an advantage.
