Duties & Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing products, ensuring that every movement is logged correctly.
  • Regularly monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies, stock shortages, or potential overstocking to management to keep inventory data precise and up-to-date.
  • Assist in periodic stock-taking and inventory audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records.

Order Fulfilment:

  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare products for customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all orders are packed according to specific customer requirements and that products meet quality and safety standards before dispatch.
  • Coordinate with the shipping department to schedule timely deliveries and prevent delays in order processing.

Receiving and Storing:

  • Receive incoming products, verify quantities and conditions against purchase orders, and report any discrepancies.
  • Store products in designated warehouse locations, following organizational methods to ensure quick and efficient retrieval of items.
  • Follow safety and hygiene protocols to ensure that products, particularly poultry, are stored and handled safely to prevent contamination.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all inventory movements, including logs for shipping, receiving, and internal stock transfers.
  • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software tools to update inventory levels and track the movement of products.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is kept up-to-date and available for audits or inspections.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality, ensuring that goods are fresh, undamaged, and meet company standards.
  • Regularly monitor the storage conditions of poultry and other perishable goods, ensuring they are stored at proper temperatures to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Report any damaged, expired, or non-compliant products immediately to supervisors.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations, especially in the handling, storage, and transportation of perishable items like poultry.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company safety protocols while working in the warehouse.
  • Regularly check the cleanliness and organization of storage areas to ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other warehouse staff, including forklift operators, order pickers, and supervisors, to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Communicate effectively with transportation teams and external suppliers to coordinate deliveries, shipments, and other logistics needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving efficiency and warehouse workflows.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized to maintain accurate inventory and order records.
  • Proficient in using Excel and other software tools to manage inventory and track product movements.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
