Job Description:

Motus Aftermarket Parts is seeking two dynamic and target-driven Counter Salesmen to join our branch in Wadeville. The primary objective of this role is to meet all sales targets while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction at all times. The ideal candidates will possess strong communication and negotiation skills and be highly motivated to excel in a competitive sales environment. This role reports directly to the Retail Manager.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to:

  1. Customer/Counter Sales Management:

    • Sales Achievement: Manage customer interactions and counter sales to ensure optimal potential is achieved. Strive to meet or exceed the sales targets set by the Sales, Branch, or Retail Manager.
    • Sales Planning: Develop and implement plans to forecast and report on sales potential by customer. Analyze sales data to strategize effectively.
    • Competitor Analysis: Report competitor pricing and activities to stay informed of market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Customer Reporting: Provide detailed reports on customer-related issues, including delivery concerns, telesales, and account problems.
  2. Revenue Generation:

    • Target Achievement: Achieve revenue targets by generating new business, expanding the customer base, and increasing market share within the geographical area of responsibility.
    • Relationship Building: Build and strengthen relationships with customers to ensure continued business and customer loyalty.
  3. Sales Inquiries and Support:

    • Inbound Sales: Receive and handle inbound customer sales inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
    • Quotation and Information: Provide accurate quotations, product information, and service details in response to customer inquiries.
    • Cross-Department Support: Collaborate with other departments such as Accounts, Dispatch, Warehousing, Receiving, and Technical to ensure smooth operations and minimize customer queries.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Requirements: Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales parts environment, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and addressing customer needs.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge of Japanese and European truck parts is advantageous. A technical background will also be considered a plus.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the geographical area of responsibility is essential for effective market penetration.
