Job Description:
This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to gain technical skills and hands-on experience in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical and diagnostic services in a structured and supervised environment. The apprentice will be trained to perform mechanical work, learn diagnostic techniques, and provide accurate vehicle maintenance and repairs under the guidance of experienced technicians. This role is essential for developing a foundation in automotive diagnostics and repair, while meeting the agreed performance targets and standard operating procedures of the workshop.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Identify and apply known solutions to operational challenges, escalating unresolved issues when necessary.
  • Complete tasks in line with agreed performance targets, following established procedures and service level agreements.
  • Report on daily activities and tasks to provide timely information for decision-making processes.
  • Execute work activities while adhering to governance, compliance, and safety protocols to prevent financial losses or safety hazards.
  • Deliver high-quality work that meets the expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and initiatives to improve work quality, develop new skills, and enhance technical abilities.
  • Assist assigned technicians with tasks and services to gain experience and technical knowledge.
  • Follow the logbook and training programme to ensure that all required development interventions are completed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A National Senior Certificate (Matric) with subjects in Pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Higher Certificates and/or Advanced National (Vocational) Certificates at NQF Level 04 will be beneficial.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar technical or mechanical environment.
  • A valid South African driver’s license is required.
