Purpose of the Position:
The Data Capturer plays a critical role in supporting the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) specialist by capturing and consolidating data from various health facilities and partners. The primary responsibility of the District Data Capturer is to consolidate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data submissions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education:
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification is advantageous
- Skills & Experience:
- Trained on TIER.Net software and/or previous experience in TIER.Net data capturing and reporting
- Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Department of Health (DoH) data/M&E systems (from patient-record level to DHIS level)
- Experience in data collection and capturing within the public health sector is advantageous
- Familiarity with the District Health System is advantageous
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to communicate in English (isiXhosa is an advantage)
- Clear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data Capturing & Consolidation:
- Capture and consolidate facility data for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Update databases with the relevant data as required
- Format and structure data for reporting purposes
- Maintain a register to track who is responsible for data submission at each facility
- Data Submission:
- Ensure timely submission of data from all facilities
- Notify the M&E specialist and other relevant staff if data is not submitted on time
- Keep a record of all data submissions
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with colleagues and project management teams to meet project objectives
- Collaborate with Department of Health and THC staff to ensure accurate information capture
- Administrative Support:
- Perform filing and other administrative duties as required
