Job Purpose:
The primary goal of this position is to ensure the efficient and effective repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment to guarantee availability and operational performance. You will play a key role in ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are in optimal working condition to support production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Safety Checks: Managing safety inspections of circuits, systems, and conducting system analysis.
- Control System Design & Construction: Involvement in the design and construction of control systems.
- Faultfinding: Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting faults on electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Equipment Servicing: Performing regular service checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Electrical Wiring: Handling wiring for power and control circuits and ensuring waterproofing of electrical equipment.
- Wiring Premises & Breakdown Equipment: Ensuring proper electrical installations for premises and addressing breakdowns.
- Machinery Maintenance: Ensuring that machines are properly maintained in the workshop.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conducting root cause analysis for repetitive breakdowns and providing detailed feedback.
- System Improvement: Recommending improvements and implementing system enhancement plans.
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications.
- N4 certification with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience.
- Experience in FMCG plants, particularly with refrigeration equipment.
- Experience working with electronic grading systems and PLC programming.
- HT switching experience will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to work long hours, including weekends, standby, and overtime as required.
- Medically fit to perform the role.
Competencies/Skills:
- Knowledge of Code of Practice 29 and relevant safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Troubleshooting abilities to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Experience with variable speed drives.
