Job Summary:
The Mega Bus Depot in Kuruman is looking to hire a dedicated Fuel Attendant to join their team. The main responsibility of the role is to refuel buses and company vehicles while ensuring that all fuel operations run smoothly. The Fuel Attendant will also be tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the fuel bay area. The candidate must follow company policies and work closely with management to handle additional tasks as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / National Certificate
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- A valid Driver’s License – minimum Code 08
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Ability to work overtime and respond to short-notice requests
- Must be in good physical health to handle the demands of the job
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Refueling buses and company vehicles as required, ensuring safety measures are strictly followed
- Performing regular checks on the fuel pumps to identify any issues and ensure their proper functioning
- Maintaining a clean and organized fuel bay area, ensuring that spills and other hazards are addressed promptly
- Recording fuel usage and conducting basic inspections of the vehicles while refueling
- Supporting other depot staff with general duties when required, including reporting fuel consumption and stock levels to management
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, including health and safety standards
- Following all procedures related to fuel handling and assisting in emergency situations as needed
- Communicating with management regarding any concerns or required maintenance in the fuel area
Working Conditions:
The Fuel Attendant must be willing to work in an environment that involves exposure to fuel and related fumes. The position requires a commitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness standards while handling potentially hazardous materials. Flexibility is essential as the role may involve working shifts, irregular hours, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when necessary.
