General Assistant

 


Location: In-store


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service:

    • Provide comprehensive customer service by advising and assisting customers with products and queries.
    • Address and resolve customer complaints effectively.
  2. Merchandising:

    • Ensure bulk stock is safely and accurately displayed according to the store layout plan.
    • Maintain full merchandising in the designated area following planograms.
  3. Housekeeping:

    • Keep your area of responsibility free from obstacles, ensuring customers can move safely without any risks.
    • Label shelves correctly and maintain cleanliness, adhering to the required schedules for canteen and toilet/shower facilities.
  4. Safety Compliance (OHSA):

    • Follow safety protocols, including the use of safety gear, and ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
    • Report any safety risks or discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  5. Stock Loss Prevention:

    • Report any damaged stock to the Store Manager to minimize stock loss.

Job Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 and 1 year of related experience, or
    • Grade 12 without related work experience.
  • Skills:

    • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
    • Ability to perform basic calculations.
    • Computer literacy is a plus.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Valid South African ID or work permit.
    • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
    • Ability to work under pressure.

This position requires a proactive approach to customer service, strong merchandising skills, and adherence to safety standards.
