Job Overview:
Curro Hillcrest is seeking a full-time, permanent High School Receptionist who embodies strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing school communications, assisting with administrative tasks, and supporting both learners and staff. Commitment to the school's Christian foundation and ethos is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reception and Communication: Field phone calls, emails, and queries from parents, staff, and learners.
- Announcements: Make announcements and locate teachers and learners as required.
- Delivery and Lost Property: Manage deliveries and distribute items for staff and learners, as well as oversee lost property.
- Petty Cash: Handle cash for events and manage petty cash transactions.
- Administrative Support:
- Upload newsletters and alerts on D6 and MyHub.
- Assist with courier bookings and filing tasks.
- Log IT service calls for learners and staff.
- Assist in maintaining learner records and compiling application packs.
- Housekeeping: Oversee Wave cleaning staff and arrange extra support for events.
- Awards and Events: Manage distribution of badges and scrolls for awards and organize additional staff for after-hours functions.
- Record-Keeping: Capture late comers and early leavers, maintain key registers, and manage stationery and printer supplies.
- Sick Bay Management: Monitor use of the sick bay, sanitize, and assist ill learners.
- Newsletter: Draft and distribute the monthly newsletter, ensuring all submissions and photos are gathered on time.
- MERC Meetings: Act as the secretary, taking minutes, transcribing, and following up on tasks from meetings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Educational Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Canva, and Excel
Experience and Skillsets:
- Previous experience in a reception or administrative role
- Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
