Purpose of the Job:
The Palletizer is responsible for ensuring the correct packing materials and cartons are used for the final product, and that these cartons are packed onto pallets at the required production rate. The role also involves sorting out any foreign materials from the product to avoid customer complaints.
Key Performance Areas:
- Operate date coding equipment and verify correct information is programmed.
- Ensure proper taping of boxes to prevent damage.
- Ensure that carton dates and product coding are legible and correctly placed.
- Stack pallets in the correct configuration and use slip sheets as needed.
- Achieve budget line rates by packing the correct cartons onto pallets.
- Assist with problem resolution as required.
- Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness in the work area.
- Contribute to waste management and minimize packaging losses.
- Ensure all wire ties are removed at the staging area.
- Load the correct product at the correct hopper.
- Remove S-1 Tickets before tipping.
- Ensure the line runs without gaps and maintain 5S standards in the workplace.
- Focus on efficient sorting to remove all foreign materials and report spillages.
- Be present at the workplace consistently and report operational and maintenance issues to the Supervising Processing Operator (SPO).
- Adhere to all food safety requirements.
Experience & Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Experience: 1.5 to 2 years of work experience in the food industry and FMCG.
