Job Description:
Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to enhance your skills in a challenging environment? Sunbake Benoni is looking to recruit 2 Semi Skilled Diesel Mechanics to join its team. These positions will be based either at the Bakery in Benoni (Gauteng) or the Depot in Secunda (Mpumalanga).
In this role, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of commercial vehicles and forklifts. Candidates with at least 3 years of experience working with Isuzu, Toyota, or Nissan trucks will have an advantage. The ability to diagnose Isuzu electrical fault codes is a significant asset in this position.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- At least 4 years of experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing trucks, forklifts, and other vehicles
- Proven experience working with Isuzu, Nissan, or Toyota vehicles
- Ability to diagnose Isuzu electrical fault codes
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in English
- Computer literacy
- Attention to detail is essential
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Mechanics with the service and maintenance of the fleet, which includes trucks, trailers, forklifts, and mobile equipment.
- Perform general repairs and attend to breakdowns in the fleet.
- Conduct minor auto-electrical work as needed.
- Complete job cards accurately and timeously.
- Provide assistance with vehicle-related issues at accident scenes when required.
- Participate in standby duties for emergency repairs.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety protocols at all times.
