Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Completion: Ensure all technical campaigns are completed on time.
- Team Management: Oversee technical staff and apprentices, ensuring effective management and productivity.
- Job Planning: Plan workshop and field service jobs, ensuring smooth and timely execution.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients regarding service jobs and maintain positive relationships.
- Workshop Oversight: Manage the Kuruman workshop, including the vehicle fleet.
- Outwork Management: Oversee jobs sent to external contractors and manage their progress.
- Workplace Safety: Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT) within the Kuruman workshop.
- Warranty Management:
- Submit all warranty claims for Bell, John Deere, Kato, and Bomag machinery.
- Maintain and consolidate spreadsheets for warranty sign-offs.
- Address all warranty-related queries.
- Contractor Management: Handle contractors sent to the Johannesburg workshop.
- Workshop-in-Progress (WIP): Ensure jobs are completed within acceptable timelines.
- Administrative Duties:
- Assist with workshop debtor queries.
- Sign off on jobs and handle query resolutions.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Qualified Earthmoving Mechanic with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent management, planning, and people skills.
- Proficient in disciplinary procedures and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of technical and environmental regulations, industrial relations, and human resources (HR) skills, especially for interviews and administration.
- Experience with the AS400 system and Bell warranty procedures.
- Computer Literacy: Required for handling job-related systems and tasks.
