Job Purpose:
SGS is offering a YES Learnership for individuals based in Richards Bay. This learnership provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the cleanliness, quality, and safety of SGS’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site/Workshop Cleanup: Responsible for cleaning the site or workshop after tasks are completed or at the end of the day, ensuring all areas are clear of consumables used during the job (e.g., masking tapes, tins).
- Quality & Safety Adherence: Follow all quality and safety protocols as per the SGS management system.
- Reporting: Report any irregularities, deviations, or non-conformances to supervisors.
- Additional Tasks: Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the site supervisor, laboratory manager, or regional manager.
- Field & Laboratory Work: Assist in sampling, calculations, and testing methods, ensuring all tasks are performed accurately.
- Department Discipline: Ensure discipline and adherence to procedures within the assigned department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: Grade 12 (Mathematics and Science required).
- Proficiency: Strong command of the English language.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID document.
- Age range: 18-30 years old.
- Currently unemployed.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Willingness to relocate to Richards Bay.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Data Analysis: An affinity for data analysis is advantageous.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and efficiency in completing tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to stay organized and manage time effectively.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and show initiative.
