Position Overview:

The Classroom Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the educational environment at Sandton Pre-Primary. This position involves working closely with teachers to enhance the learning experience for young children and ensuring they are well-prepared for their next grade.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Holistic Child Development:
    Assist in preparing children holistically for their next grade, focusing on school readiness and continuous assessment.

  • Collaborative Teamwork:
    Work effectively with the teaching team to promote the success of the school and uphold its ethos.

  • Daily Programming:
    Follow a structured daily program, integrating all learning activities through active child involvement.

  • Informal Teaching:
    Uphold an informal teaching style that emphasizes learning through play and active participation.

  • Assessment and Communication:
    Conduct continuous assessments throughout the year, providing feedback to parents through interviews and written reports.

  • Participation in Events:
    Engage in general school events and activities throughout the academic year.

  • Interpersonal Skills:
    Excellent communication skills with colleagues, pupils, and parents.

  • Self-Motivation:
    Energetic and self-driven, able to use initiative effectively.

  • Team Collaboration:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement:

    • Matric Certificate
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • ECD Accredited Qualification or BEd in Foundation Phase Teaching
  • Experience:

    • Experience working with young children in a similar role or environment is essential.
