As a Retail Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the store's stock, maintaining a neat and organized environment, and handling customer interactions with a smile.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, assisting them with their purchases and ensuring they feel welcome.
  • Stock Management: Monitor inventory, replenish items, and ensure all stock is neatly displayed. Work with the team to ensure that stock control processes are accurately followed.
  • Store Electronics Handling: Operate tills, scanners, and card machines accurately and efficiently.
  • Housekeeping: Keep the store organized and presentable, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary paperwork and inventory tracking, and assist with reporting as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues to create a smooth and positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Shift Work Compliance: Adhere to shift schedules and demonstrate flexibility to work when needed, including weekends or holidays as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

Hard Skills:

  • Education: Matric certificate (Grade 12) is required.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with retail electronics such as tills, scanners, and card machines.
  • Mathematics Proficiency: Basic math skills for accurate transactions and stock counting.
  • Computer Literacy: Knowledge of stock control and basic computer skills would be advantageous.

Soft Skills:

  • Customer-Centric Attitude: A positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile to help customers.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when needed.
