BUTCHERY GENERAL ASSISTANT

Location: President Ridge, Gauteng, South Africa
Job Type: Permanent - Full-time
Hours: 8 hours per day, As Needed
Salary: TBC per hour
Start Date: ASAP


Job Description

We are seeking a General Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with locating items, answering their questions, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. A friendly and helpful attitude is key to providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive store image.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate information about products, assist customers in selecting them, and explain their usage.
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure their satisfaction with service.
  • Greet customers, offer assistance, and answer questions with a positive attitude.
  • Inform customers about sales, promotions, and special offers.
  • Handle payments (cash and card), issue receipts, and process refunds and exchanges.
  • Receive deliveries, organize products, and track stock.
  • Restock shelves quickly when items sell out.
  • Dispose of store and storeroom waste properly.
  • Assist with stocktaking.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of designated areas, including the storeroom and kitchen.
  • Follow safety, security, and environmental protocols, including emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12).
  • Skills: Ability to communicate in English.
  • Location: Must reside within 25km of the job location.
  • Clear Criminal Record: Required.

Preferences:

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience with stock takes.
