Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for Grillers to join our team in Greyville, Durban. If you have a passion for food and believe you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star, apply now!

The successful candidates will work according to a shift schedule, which includes a night shift rotation, and will be responsible for the preparation and grilling of large quantities of fast food for the Food & Beverage (F&B) Department. Your main focus will be maintaining a steady supply of food, ensuring the right quantity and quality, while adhering to hygiene and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations and appropriate hygiene practices in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Inspect food preparation areas and equipment to ensure sanitary and safe food-handling practices.
  • Estimate the amount of food and ingredients required and understand portion ratios and costings.
  • Submit daily stock requisitions and ensure stock received is of good quality.
  • Cook ingredients in a timely manner according to the menu.
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure the appropriate use of kitchen equipment for efficient food production.
  • Ensure the quality of cooked food meets Hollywoodbets standards.
  • Report any kitchen equipment breakages to the F&B Branch Manager.
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Prepare food in accordance with GAAP recipe and portion requirements.
  • Ensure all staff meal orders are placed correctly and signed off by the F&B Branch Manager.
  • Assist with event preparations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of food preparation experience
  • Bonus Skills:
    • GAAP system experience
    • Stock management
