Job Summary

As a Junior Bank Teller, you will accurately process transactions, manage customer interactions, and uphold compliance with banking policies. You will play a key role in ensuring prompt and friendly service while achieving predefined objectives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Transaction Processing:

  • Dispense and receive cash, cheques, and other financial instruments.
  • Balance and manage your cash float daily.
  • Identify and report suspicious activities before completing transactions.
  • Capture all transactions accurately on the bank’s system.

2. Customer Service:

  • Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, and account-related inquiries.
  • Provide guidance on completing forms and documentation.
  • Educate customers on self-service channels and digital banking.
  • Address customer complaints via the Bank’s Customer Care process.

3. Sales and Lead Identification:

  • Identify and refer sales leads to Sales Consultants.
  • Promote banking products and solutions to customers.
  • Meet personal sales targets through proactive customer engagement.

4. Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Follow cash management procedures and ensure adherence to prescribed limits.
  • Complete transaction records and maintain compliance with internal controls.
  • Report suspicious transactions and prevent fraud in line with AML frameworks.
  • Secure cash, stamps, keys, and other sensitive items.

5. Administrative Duties:

  • Reconcile cash and prepare reports for audits.
  • Participate in end-of-day procedures and ensure workstation security.
  • Stay updated on policies, procedures, and risk communications.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Education: Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities and meet targets.
