Purpose of the Position
The Admin Assistant will provide administrative support to the branch, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include handling customer payments, maintaining records, and performing various administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative tasks at the branch.
- Relieve cashiers or COD clerks as needed.
- Answer telephone calls and manage switchboard duties.
- Match and process Cash on Delivery (COD) invoices daily.
- Handle customer deposits, issue receipts, and ensure timely banking.
- Receive and process debtor account payments, recording them accurately.
- Maintain daily summary sheets and ensure timely submission to Head Office.
- Assist with creditor payments, including cheque preparation.
- Maintain the cash book and Manager’s Account.
- Perform month-end accruals and submit them to Head Office on time.
- Manage petty cash, including recording all transactions.
- Maintain adequate float box stock where necessary.
- Process credit notes and daily reports for outstanding CODs.
- Follow up on discrepancies and perform COD transfers from bank statements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric with Accounting and Mathematics.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong numerical and calculation skills.

- Quick learner with problem-solving initiative.
- Trustworthy and capable of handling large amounts of cash.
