Job Overview

Lancet Laboratories is looking for an Admin Clerk / Receptionist to handle sample administration, customer queries, and reception duties in line with operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • BSc Degree (Advantageous).
  • 0-1 years of relevant working experience.
  • Knowledge of organisational policies, computer literacy, and laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, and distribute samples for testing.
  • Process sample registration and queries according to procedures.
  • Dispatch specimens for testing and ensure timely report delivery.
  • Perform hospital rounds to collect samples and distribute reports.
  • Handle administrative queries and customer complaints.
  • Track and monitor sample deliveries via couriers.
  • Investigate pre-analytical process bottlenecks and resolve challenges.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workspace and prepare equipment.
  • Monitor and order stock for doctor’s rooms.
  • Professionally interact with medical staff and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Manage the reception area, direct clients, and provide information.
  • Handle cash payments and ensure banking procedures are followed.
  • Report incidents and log customer complaints.
  • Scan patient forms and resolve scanning issues.
  • Adhere to Lancet’s uniform and dress code policies.
