Role Purpose

The Broker Consultant will be responsible for attracting, engaging, and retaining profitable new business from brokers within the target market. The aim is to grow the broker base and enhance channel profitability.

Requirements

  • Grade 12/NQF 4 equivalent qualification
  • FSB recognized qualification or 120 FAIS credits
  • FAIS Representative Regulatory Exam Level 5 (desirable)
  • Class of Business 3 and 7 (investments and long-term insurance)
  • Valid driver's license and own transport
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Broker Consultant
  • Product knowledge and competitor intelligence
  • Fluent in English (knowledge of African languages preferred)
  • Experience in the Mass Market and Stop Order industry
  • Established network of Financial Service Providers (FSPs)
  • FAIS Tier 1 long-term insurance and pension product experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing plans to outperform competitors
  • Stay updated on competitor activity, new products, and services
  • Promote and market Metropolitan solutions to brokers
  • Identify broker needs and provide support and training
  • Negotiate business and service levels with intermediaries
  • Maintain and grow business relationships with brokers
  • Ensure adherence to business processes and policies
  • Prepare quotations and check new business applications
  • Manage premium payment facilities
  • Drive marketing initiatives for new business acquisition
  • Ensure productivity and quality standards are met
  • Manage broker contract applications and client services
  • Deliver training to brokers on Metropolitan products
  • Monitor turnaround times and resolve client issues promptly
  • Provide reports on service delivery and client targets
  • Offer expert advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Research and monitor financial market trends
  • Conduct client financial needs analysis and develop custom financial plans
