Job Description

Ensure accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and related documentation to guarantee customer satisfaction. Uphold company standards by ensuring no goods pass through the POS without payment.


Requirements

  1. Educational & Experience:

    • Grade 12 certificate or at least 1 year of related work experience.
  2. Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficient in English and the dominant local language.
    • Basic calculation skills.
    • Strong administration skills.
    • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
    • Ability to handle pressure effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Handling:

  • Maintain balance in all allocated cash, including floats and petty cash.
  • Correctly identify and capture goods on the POS terminal.
  • Process customer payments accurately.
  • Ensure adequate change is available and handle pick-ups within parameters.
  • Perform accurate cash-ups and secure daily takings in the drop safe or vault.
  • Process transactions related to other stores, deliveries, and quotes accurately.

Administration:

  • Sign, compile, and file all cashier-related documentation.

Customer Service:

  • Provide efficient and friendly service to all customers.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate person for assistance.
  • Adhere to the company's dress code.

Safety (OHSA):

  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.

Security Awareness:

  • Uphold system password control at the till.
  • Safeguard cash and ensure safe transport to the cash office.
