Job Overview

ANEW Hotel OR Tambo is seeking a talented and experienced Cook to join their culinary team. The role involves preparing and delivering high-quality food, desserts, and pastries in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring the highest standards are maintained for restaurant and function catering.


Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Matric (Higher Certificate).
    • A tertiary qualification in culinary arts or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience as a Chef.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Stock Management:
    • Ensure that stocks are neatly packed to allow for accurate counts.
    • Assist in checking and maintaining daily stock par levels for fridges, freezers, dry stores, consumables, and operating equipment.
  • Product Standards:
    • Ensure that all products used are of the highest possible standard, properly rotated, and received according to hotel policy.
  • Stock Requisitions:
    • Check stock requisitions against actual issues, and report any discrepancies immediately to the person responsible.
  • Equipment Handling:
    • Ensure that all operating equipment is checked and stored securely.
