Debtors Clerk – Fertilizer (A Division of Omnia)

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum: Grade 12
- Desirable: Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping
- Experience:
- 5+ years in a similar role (preferably in the agricultural sector)
- Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure order details are accurate and compliant with the VAT Act
- Capture transactions correctly for accurate accounting and reporting
- Validate sales/receipts and update the ERP system
- Provide accurate reconciliations to ensure outstanding balances are correct
- Handle administrative tasks (filing, answering queries, assisting audits)
- Resolve customer queries efficiently and escalate when necessary
- Maintain effective teamwork through communication and support
- Update and allocate receipts to customer accounts
- Post interest and legal fees to customer accounts
- Monitor age analysis and overdue accounts
- Ensure debtors’ master files are up to date
- Run interest calculations and generate statements on AX
- Approve sales orders and allocate payments to accounts
- Perform reconciliations (Debtors, GDNI, Bank, Insurance, and Legal)
- Handle debt collection and ad-hoc financial reporting tasks
