Purpose of the Role

The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating an assigned truck, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with safety standards. The driver will also be required to keep accurate records, maintain the vehicle, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Driving & Inspections: Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues.
  • Delivery & Documentation: Verify and deliver goods accurately and on time, maintaining records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery receipts.
  • Customer Service: Maintain professional communication with customers, warehouse staff, and stakeholders, promptly addressing any concerns.
  • Truck Maintenance: Keep the truck clean, organized, and stocked with necessary equipment and documents.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend meetings, coaching, and training sessions to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience (preferably in the FMCG retail industry).
  • Code 10 or Code 14 (EC) License with a valid PDP.

Competencies & Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Friendly, helpful, confident yet humble, and a team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent navigation, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service orientation.
