Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Food Service Assistant to join our team. The primary responsibility is to assist with food preparation, front-of-house services, and general support related to Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations. You will play an essential role in ensuring high-quality service and food standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Assist in meal preparation, particularly with salads and desserts.
- Serving Line: Place food on the serving line and keep it well-stocked and clean.
- Cleaning & Hygiene: Ensure cleanliness of canteen tables, kitchen, and other areas.
- Stock Management: Record and store food leftovers, count stock, and transfer it to the following shift’s staff.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service and handle customer complaints or compliments.
- Health & Safety: Comply with cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
- Team Support: Assist in training new employees and perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Matric (Grade 12).
- Experience: 1-2 years in a similar food service role.
- Additional Qualification: Culinary qualification (advantageous).
- Other Requirements: Must be able to work night shifts and meet food safety standards.
