Forklift Technician

Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Gauteng, Isando


Purpose of the Job

To carry out tasks related to vehicle maintenance and repair, including stripping, cleaning, assembling parts, and ensuring proper functionality while maintaining a clean and safe workstation.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Vehicle Inspection and Reporting:

    • Evaluate vehicles for defects before repairs.
    • Compile technical reports on repair requirements.
    • List spare parts needed for vehicle repairs.
  2. Component Handling:

    • Strip vehicle components and assess parts for wear or damage.
    • Clean and reassemble components using new or refurbished parts.
    • Identify and report system failures to the team leader and foreman.
  3. Repair and Documentation:

    • Service and repair vehicles to original equipment (OE) specifications.
    • Record tasks performed, spares used, and time spent on the job card.
    • Perform after-hours breakdown and standby duties.
  4. Productivity and Training:

    • Maintain acceptable productivity and efficiency levels.
    • Train and guide repair shop assistants and semi-skilled artisans.
  5. Safety and Standards:

    • Report unsafe working conditions and equipment to supervisors.
    • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company dress code.
    • Maintain daily housekeeping and ensure Health and Safety standards are met.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Qualification: Red Seal Certification
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience (advantageous)
