General Worker
Location: East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa

Company: Midas
Midas is seeking a General Worker to join their team at the East London branch. The purpose of this position is to perform general warehouse duties, including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and maintaining cleanliness in the warehouse.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Binning
- Ensure the proper binning of incoming merchandise and replenishment of inventory from bulk to pick locations according to standard operating procedures.
- Allocate new products to the correct bin locations and update as necessary.
- Assist with replenishment tasks and ensure all incoming goods are received and checked in line with company standards.
Picking
- Pick customer and branch orders on time to meet order cut-off times.
- Ensure proper handling of stock to prevent damage, especially when picking from bulk locations.
- Follow relevant procedures for efficient customer satisfaction.
- Assist with stock-taking procedures and ensure housekeeping is completed daily.
- Double-check orders to maintain high customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.
- Achieve set operational targets consistently.
Scanner Control
- Issue and book out scanners to operators daily.
- Inspect and book scanners back into stock after use, reporting any damage to the supervisor.
- Maintain the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy.
- At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of spares, motor, and engine parts, warehouse systems, and procedures.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile.
- Team player, physically fit, and capable of handling warehouse tasks
