Purpose of the Job

The Payment Clerk is essential for processing and managing financial transactions, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with organizational standards. The role focuses on Trade Transactions (TTs) and Letters of Credit (LCs), acting as a bridge between the company, suppliers, banks, and internal teams to guarantee seamless financial operations.


Key Responsibilities

Transaction Management

  • Enter financial data for TTs and LCs on SAP.
  • Execute payment runs and prepare payment documentation for banking systems.
  • Verify financial entries for import supplier payments on SAP.
  • Send proof of payments to suppliers.

Letters of Credit (LCs)

  • Generate Bamboo Rose reports for LC establishment.
  • Prepare and establish LCs on banking systems based on Bamboo Rose orders.
  • Share LC copies with forwarders and clients.
  • Manage LC amendments and discrepancies.

Administrative Support

  • Process debtor entries on SAP.
  • Resolve payment and vendor queries efficiently.
  • File TTs and LCs online for easy access and compliance.
  • Enter expense creditor details on SAP.
  • Provide backup support for other payment clerks.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Grade 12.
  • Advantageous: Commercial Diploma.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of trade creditors' administrative experience, ideally in a retail environment.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong administrative abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Familiarity with banking systems.
