Purpose of the Role

To market, sell, and cross-sell Nedbank products in-branch to Retail Business Banking (RBB) clients. The role aims to retain and grow the client base, achieve business objectives, and meet client financial needs by providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Client Engagement

    • Market, sell, and cross-sell Nedbank products.
    • Finalize client transactions and ensure proper documentation.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Obtain referrals from existing clients and branch staff.
  2. Customer Service

    • Deliver exceptional client service by understanding and addressing client needs.
    • Resolve client queries and provide proactive financial solutions.
    • Educate clients about product offerings.
  3. Compliance & Administration

    • Ensure all client details and applications are accurately captured.
    • Comply with FICA and FAIS requirements to reduce fraudulent transactions.
    • Report suspicious transactions as necessary.
  4. Performance & Reporting

    • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
    • Report daily sales statistics and improve performance based on feedback.
  5. Collaboration & Strategy

    • Work with colleagues in Business Banking to activate new opportunities.
    • Contribute to Nedbank’s strategic initiatives and culture-building programs.
    • Seek opportunities to improve business processes.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.

Preferred:

  • Certificate or Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Commerce (e.g., BComm Marketing).

Experience

Minimum:

  • 3 years of retail banking experience, with 1-2 years as a Sales Consultant.
  • Exposure to Small Business Services clients.

Knowledge & Skills

Technical Knowledge:

  • Banking and administrative procedures.
  • Governance, risk, and controls.
  • Business writing and Microsoft Office proficiency.
