Purpose of the Role

The Warehouse Operator (Picking) is responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and counting products as per picking instructions. The role ensures efficient order fulfillment, contributing to customer satisfaction and smooth warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Picking: Select loose case and layer items accurately according to picking instructions.
  • Packing & Labeling: Securely pack and label items while ensuring quality and proper packaging.
  • Inventory Management: Count and verify picked items to ensure order accuracy. Report out-of-stock or short-picked items.
  • Equipment Use: Utilize picking equipment to navigate the warehouse efficiently.
  • Stock Control: Work with the inventory control team to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and organized to minimize errors and improve efficiency.
  • Issue Reporting: Report damaged goods, incorrect labeling, or packaging concerns for resolution.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Team Support: Participate in training programs and contribute to the achievement of team goals.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role (preferably in FMCG Retail).
  • Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, aligned with the HO HOLA culture.
  • Friendly, helpful, confident yet humble, and a team player.
  • Ability to work in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
