Job Overview
AECI Property Services is looking for an Apprentice Electrician to gain knowledge and practical skills in electrical trade under the guidance of qualified artisans and technicians.
Key Responsibilities
1. Training & Skill Development
- Participate in the formal training plan for the apprenticeship.
- Attend necessary training and assessments.
- Maintain a training record (logbook) and present it when required.
- Understand that workplace instructions and training materials remain the employer’s property.
2. Electrical Maintenance & Installation
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and optimization of plant electrical equipment.
- Work on cable reticulation, industrial, and domestic electrical circuit installations.
- Perform testing and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
- Use power tools and hand tools efficiently.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
- Adhere to AECI safety standards and codes of practice.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science.
- N3 qualification (essential for Trade Test application).
- Driver’s license (advantageous).
- Basic understanding of process plants and maintenance importance.
- Must pass a health clearance to work in a chemical environment.
