About the Role
Fedics is looking for an Assistant Catering Manager to assist the Unit Manager in managing daily operations efficiently. The role involves staff supervision, service delivery management, compliance monitoring, and customer relations.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) – Mandatory
- 2+ years of experience in catering or restaurant supervision
- Strong food service knowledge and experience managing kitchen operations
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise front-of-house staff and ensure service standards
- Manage staff rosters, time sheets, and shifts
- Maintain HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) records
- Implement corrective and proactive actions for non-compliance
- Support the Business Plan implementation for the unit
Kitchen and Dining Area Management
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of all service areas
- Maintain proper staff relations for a productive work environment
- Ensure visibility during peak meal times to oversee operations
- Ensure all staff are trained to use kitchen equipment
- Monitor and report damage or negligence regarding kitchen equipment
Quality and Cost Control
- Maintain food quality as per contractual agreements
- Minimize wastage and control food costs
- Ensure staff adhere to uniform and hygiene standards
- Conduct training and supervision of staff
- Monitor and enforce quality control measures
Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
