Job Overview

DSV is seeking a Customer Service Specialist – Operations to manage transport and logistics operations in line with company standards, ensuring client satisfaction and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Plan and dispatch loads while allocating drivers to specific routes.
  • Track vehicles and loads to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Oversee Proof of Delivery (POD) processing and driver debriefing.
  • Monitor and control fuel usage, driver overtime costs, and vehicle maintenance.

2. Client & Service Management

  • Ensure client needs and expectations are met within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Handle client interactions and resolve issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver on both internal and client requirements effectively.

3. Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Provide guidance to improve performance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12) – Required
  • Logistics/Warehouse Management qualification – Advantageous
  • 3+ years of logistics experience, with a focus on road transportation.
  • Experience in Superlink Linehauls and Milkruns.
  • Prior team leader experience.
  • Experience in:
    • Load planning and tracking.
    • POD capturing and driver debriefing.
    • Managing driver and vehicle performance.
    • Monitoring costs and overtime.

Skills & Competencies

  • Intermediate Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with transport tracking systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
