Job Description
The Manager: Fruit & Veg is responsible for managing resources within the department to maximise gross margins and profits. The role ensures that operating standards, hygiene, security, and merchandising are maintained at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) / N3 or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience.

- Communication: Clear and professional interaction with employees, management, customers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the department’s operations.
- Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards.
- Enforce security procedures.
- Ensure merchandising and display standards are met.
- Conduct regular stock quality checks and ensure proper rotation.
- Prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages.
- Complete necessary documentation and administration.
- Plan and implement sales promotions.
- Assist and advise customers in a professional manner.
- Monitor expenses, turnover, and gross profit to meet budget targets.
- Optimize stock levels through effective ordering and returns management.
- Plan daily and weekly production of products where applicable.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operated.
- Manage and motivate employees to maintain department standards.
