Main Purpose of the Job

To ensure effective administration and customer service systems within the Mobile Communications, Postal, and Courier Services office.


Key Responsibilities

Business Operational Efficiency

  • Process and issue new applications for Data Cards, SIM Cards, Modems, Cellphones, and Tablets for qualifying employees.

  • Manage postal and courier services.

  • Issue Data Cards from MTN, Telkom, Cell C, Vodacom, and other ISPs.

  • Provide information on sponsored billing and pool phones.

  • Process cancellations for departing employees.

  • Compile monthly reports on high data users.

  • Process device applications manually and on SAP.

  • Request itemized billing from service providers.

  • Process monthly payments for Vodacom, MTN, and other ISPs.

  • Arrange delivery of cellphones and Data Cards to provincial offices.

  • Sort incoming mail and courier parcels.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain a professional relationship with internal and external clients.

  • Handle complaints and queries from employees and service providers.

  • Assist staff with line applications, billing issues, SIM swaps, upgrades, contract cancellations, device repairs, roaming, and courier services.

  • Assist with audit queries related to the department.

Governance, Risk, and Compliance

  • Follow SABC policies and procedures.

  • Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Adhere to Cellphone Office regulations and procedures.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Office Administration.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative environment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • General knowledge of SABC rules and regulations.

  • Proficiency in SAP System.

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office).

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Basic customer service skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Professional telephone etiquette.

  • Ability to compile reports and update databases on SAP.

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
