Job Description:
Alert Engine Parts is looking for a Creditors Administrator to join our team at the Goodwood branch. This position involves working closely with both the internal procurement department and external suppliers to ensure accurate and timely processing of branch purchases, as well as ensuring that creditors are paid on time.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Creditors
- Confirm all amounts due for payment and seek approval. This includes liaising with relevant operational and administrative staff to ensure that all invoiced stock, non-stock items, and services rendered are accurately received and correctly charged before payment.
- Liaise with MAP head office to ensure the branch meets all relevant reporting deadlines.
- Monitor and investigate all debit balances.
- Reconcile all payments of sundry creditors and send them to MAP Head Office for processing.
- Prepare all month-end accrual journals.
Daily Cash Up and Reconciliation
- Reconcile the Daily Cash Up Sheets accurately and timeously, ensuring they are sent to the Head Office on time.
- Manage daily banking (deposit slips).
- Coordinate with Fidelity for the collection of cash.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12
- A tertiary qualification in finance/administration is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping/creditors and administration.
- A solid understanding of the accounting principle of double entry.
- Ability to structure and pass journal entries.
- Good understanding of both creditors and debtors’ ledgers.
- Hands-on experience with subsidiary ledgers.
- Solid working knowledge of general ledger and cash book functions.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Organized and disciplined approach to administration.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong team player with a flexible approach to work duties.
- Ability to liaise with administration staff in different branches across the country.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Clear ITC and criminal record.
