Job Purpose

The Asset Care Specialist will lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and execution of asset care processes at Shatterprufe® Struandale. The role focuses on improving equipment reliability, productivity, and maintainability to ensure high plant availability at the lowest cost.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute Asset Care strategies to ensure cost-effective equipment reliability and asset preservation.

  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve quality.

  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling to ensure optimal plant performance.

  • Manage engineering department administration, including monthly reports, repairs, service schedules, and machine data.

  • Establish and improve work methods to remain cost-competitive.

  • Manage and hold staff accountable through performance management and disciplinary procedures.

  • Develop and mentor staff through talent management and Individual Development Plans (IDP).

  • Ensure effective communication with stakeholders to support business decision-making.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12

  • National Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the OHS Act

  • PLC programming (Allen Bradley)

  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • Preventative maintenance systems

  • Experience with SAP PM Module

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to drive improvement initiatives

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

  • Process and detail-oriented mindset

Experience:

  • 5 years of planning experience using SAP PM Module

  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
