Job Purpose
Bidvest International Logistics (BIL) is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their Sales team in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on generating new business across Air & Ocean Forwarding, Clearing, Roadfreight (local and cross-border), and Warehousing services.

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • BDegree or relevant Post Graduate Qualification
  • 5 to 10 years sales experience in Freight Forwarding, 3/4 PL, or Contract Logistics
  • Proven track record in new business development
  • Experience managing or leading a team is an advantage
  • Knowledge of E2E Supply Chain
  • MS Office (Intermediate level) and CRM skills
  • Code 08 Driver’s License

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage new business opportunities through networking and cold calling
  • Grow profit and revenue within assigned industry verticals
  • Build long-term business relationships
  • Manage client profitability and ensure year-on-year growth
  • Present and consult at senior management level
  • Submit proposals for tenders and RFQs
  • Research and identify market opportunities
  • Report on market intelligence and competitor activities
  • Collaborate with BIL Product Heads and Agents
