  • Salary: R86.45 per hour (Annual salary plus 37% in lieu of service benefits)

Job Responsibilities

  • General Cleaning: Sweep, mop, dust, scrub, polish, and remove refuse daily.
  • Sanitation: Clean garbage bins, toilets, sluices, drains, windows, and walls in the clinic.
  • Equipment Care: Ensure cleaning equipment is cleaned after use and stored securely.
  • Housekeeping: Assist the supervisor with cleaning equipment control, linen care, and serving patients.
  • Safety Measures: Follow safety protocols when handling waste.
  • Training: Attend in-service training for better service delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience: Appropriate experience as a cleaner in a health environment.
  • Skills: Basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Physical Ability:
    • Able to lift/move heavy equipment and supplies.
    • Work at heights using a stepladder.
    • Handle physical tasks and operate heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team, independently, and unsupervised.
  • Accountability: Must take responsibility for tasks and handle conflict under pressure.
  • Machinery Skills: Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment.
