Job Description
SANBS is looking for a Donor Recruiter to educate and recruit donors, ensuring collection targets are met for a sustainable and safe blood supply. The incumbent will engage with donors, provide support at blood drives, and assist in marketing functions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Participate in donor recruitment pilot studies.
Address donor queries and complaints, reporting to the Donor Relations Practitioner.
Provide feedback on educational needs, including required donor talks.
Assist with organizing marketing events such as media launches and donor awards.
Internal Processes
Distribute advertising materials (flyers, posters, banners) before blood drives.
Liaise with blood drive coordinators to confirm event arrangements.
Assist in venue setup and ensure proper visibility of blood drives.
Recruit and educate donors to meet collection targets.
Inform donors about risk behaviors to maintain a safe blood supply.
Welcome donors professionally and ensure they have a good donation experience.
Ensure donors read and understand information pamphlets.
Manage blood drive flow to reduce waiting times.
Assist in setting up and packing up after the event.
Promote donor campaigns and provide feedback to the Donor Relations Practitioner.
Support branch promotions, shows, and exhibitions.
Learning & Development
Submit weekly donor recruitment reports and suggest improvements.
Maintain personal records and complete required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Attend meetings and training sessions to stay updated on recruitment strategies.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Grade 12
Marketing/Public Relations Certificate (Minimum 6 months)
Valid Code B Manual Driver’s License
Skills & Knowledge
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage with donors professionally
