Job Description
RCL FOODS has an exciting opportunity for a General Worker to join the team in Boksburg. We are looking for an organized, reliable individual who is passionate about maintaining store cleanliness, handling merchandising, and providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 3 years of general worker experience (preferably in a staff shop or similar setting)
- Minimum of 2 years of cashier experience (preferably in a retail environment)
Duties & Responsibilities
Merchandising and Customer Service
- Offload delivery trucks and allocate stock as instructed by the Outlet Controller.
- Pack shelves neatly according to store merchandising standards.
- Ensure pricing is correct and displayed properly.
- Follow health and safety standards for product shelf life.
- Rotate stock using the "First In, First Out" method.
- Inform customers about store specials, promotions, and prices.
- Remove damaged stock and report this to the Outlet Controller.
- Assist customers with queries or requests on the shop floor.
- Report stock shortages or issues to the Outlet Controller.
- Assist with pulling stock for staff account orders on delivery days.
Cashier Duties
- Manage sales transactions efficiently.
- Reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
- Provide excellent customer service to help improve sales.
- Handle daily transactions between the Farm Shop, traders, and consumers.
- Capture daily sales totals on the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and report any discrepancies.
- Use the Bank Note Scanning Machine to check for counterfeit money.
Customer Service
- Share product information with traders and customers.
- Promote store specials to boost sales.
- Gather customer feedback to help improve services.
Stock Take/Management
- Assist with the monthly stock take.
- Report any stock count discrepancies to the Outlet Controller.
- Provide feedback on customer needs and preferences to the Outlet Controller.
Housekeeping
- Keep the store clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Monitor freezer temperatures and report any issues promptly.
- Support energy-saving initiatives in the store.
